When I designed this pattern I had been itching to make two-tone socks for years! Their classic look, and fun colour contrasts make for a great way to play with colours. (Who says you have to make each sock match either!) My barrier to using existing patterns was that most sock patterns are designed for wool yarn and weren’t entirely compatible because veggie yarns behave a bit differently, and this style is often made with thicker yarn like DK or worsted. If you’ve got some , and the right needles, then you’re all set to make some socks! And since there are six sizes, why not make them for the whole family?

I wrote this pattern using double pointed needles, but with a little knit-smarts there’s nothing stopping you from doing them with circulars working one or even two at a time.
